A dynamic and deeply versatile musician, Tynicfly is a Boston-based keyboardist, musical director, and producer with over two decades of experience performing, recording, and shaping sound across genres. Rooted in reggae, jazz, soul, funk, and world music traditions, he is known for his groove-driven playing, rich harmonic language, and ability to elevate any ensemble he joins. As the Musical Director and lead keyboardist of the Conscious Reggae Band, Tynicfly brings high-level musicianship to stages ranging from intimate venues to major festivals. His work as a touring and freelance musician has led him to share the stage with internationally recognized artists, including Marlon Asher, Lutan Fyah, Anthony B, Iba Mahr, Squidly Cole, Glen Washington, Hector Lewis, and Papa Michigan, and to open for acts such as Bim Skala Bim and Highly Suspect. In the studio,Tynicfly is an accomplished producer and sound designer, having produced and arranged tracks for artists including Safiya and the reggae band Hot Like Fire. His technical expertise spans Logic Pro, Ableton Live, Pro Tools, and advanced synthesis, with deep proficiency in both analog and digital sound design across instruments such as Moog, Roland, Yamaha, Nord, Sequential, and Oberheim systems. Beyond the stage and studio, Tynicfly is passionate about music education and community impact. As a musician with FriendshipWorks’ MusicWorks program, he brings interactive music experiences to elder communities across Boston, using music as a tool for connection, memory, and joy. He is also an experienced instructor, offering lessons in piano, jazz harmony, reggae keyboard technique, and music production, helping students of all ages develop both technical skill and musical identity.
